From Swimming Pool to Room Conversion in Leicestershire

Our Clients were looking to re-purpose their unused swimming pool space by converting it into a separate lounge and relaxation room. Due to family circumstances the pool was no longer in use.

The Brief

The Client wished to keep the pool in situ for future sale and use a system that allowed it to be recommissioned easily.  The pool is rectangular in shape and a constant depth of 1.5m with a liner. Taking the pool construction and specification into account we recommended a flush fitting Pool-dek solution. Pool-dek is a modular system consisting of steel frames and engineered timber deck panels. The client chose a carpeted deck finish which was replicated in the whole room.

The pool was housed above ground in a separate room in the house, therefore the new space would create a ‘mezzanine’ floor effect. Our Client wished to bring the interior décor of the whole room together using the same carpet colour, so we supplied not only carpeted decks for the pool cover, but matching carpet for the remainder of the room. Stylish handrails were installed by the client once our work was completed, with a stainless steel finish and clear glass central panels to provide a safe space over the decommissioned pool.

The Result

The room is now refurbished to a high standard. Carpeted steps provide access to a light and airy relaxation space with a modern sofa and entertainment area. A large window lets in plenty of light. The Pool-dek installation took less than a day to complete.
