Our Clients in Berkshire were looking for a solution which would create a dance floor over their swimming pool for a number of parties that they preferred to host at their beautiful private home. Their specification was to host both dining and dancing for around 100 people comfortably using their pool and Jacuzzi space.
The pool room, situated at the rear of the house was of a Romanesque design with a number of arched double doorways, leading to a vast and beautifully landscaped garden. The room consisted of a large featured atrium which let in a perfect amount of light.
The pool construction consists of a large rectangle concrete and tiled pool approximately 16m x 6m with an adjacent Jacuzzi approximately 4m x 1.5m. Our instructions were to provide a cover for both the pool and Jacuzzi without the need to drain the pool. As with every purchase of Pool-dek we carried out a full site survey and ensured that the Client had a safe and accessible storage area in order to store numerous wheeled trolleys, a requirement when Pool-dek is not in use. This was particularly important for this project as the storage area was to be in a separate location away from the pool area.
After consultations with the Client, they chose their floor finish and trim, we went into manufacture and within 12 weeks Pool-dek was installed, which took approximately one day. The Client chose a beautiful high quality light wood finish for the decks with a maple edging in cream stain with a UV lacquer to the face and edging and a white vapour barrier to the underside of the decks. The design was chosen to match the existing interior design of the space.
As an added design feature we provided three acrylic deck panels over the Jacuzzi which allows viewing of the bottom of the pool. To finish off the design we added cream satin stain UV lacquered fascia panels around the perimeter.
The client chose 304 grade stainless steel metalwork which allows the system to be installed in a filled pool for no more than 10 days at any one time.
