A Contemporary Pool Cover in Devon

In a property located in the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this beautiful swimming pool transformation looks amazing in the Client’s fantastic pool room. The swimming pool is rectangular in shape with a flat bottom throughout and two access points. The pool room consists of a fantastic atrium high ceiling surrounded by glass windows letting in plenty of light. With a large window at one end and a spiral staircase at the other, the room is perfect for pool or party.

The Brief

We were approached by our Clients who were looking to hold family events in their home and were looking to make the most of their indoor space by using a hard floor pool cover over their swimming pool. The Pool-dek system can be installed and removed within a few hours, making it a very flexible solution when holding events in your home. Our Client requested our new lightweight decks mixed with three acrylic decks and a stainless steel trim in a finish which would match the existing interior design.

When purchasing a Pool-dek it is very important to consider access and storage space when not in use, our Client needed space for trolleys and preferably on the same level as the pool. The plant room was an underutilised area and located nearby and proved to be an ideal storage area for the Pool-dek trolleys. After a visit to survey the pool and discuss the final finishes and specification, an installation date was set. We also arranged to provide training to the Client for them to install the system as and when required.

The Result

Our Clients were extremely happy with the installation and finish.  They now have the option to cover and uncover the pool as required. The system and the interior design matched beautifully with the acrylic decks adding a modern feature.  The specification of the deck panels and stainless steel gives the flexibility to keep Pool-dek in the pool for several months at a time or even a few years without the need to remove.
