Swimming Pool Covers for Unused Pools using Pool-dek
We work closely with Clients who have unique requirements
Pool-dek is a pool cover with a difference. It is designed as an ‘infill’ system consisting of steel metalwork frames and timber decks. The decking over the pool forms a safe and secure flooring system over the pool’s surface. This allows the floor to be used as an event space such as a dance floor over the pool, a gymnasium or a child’s playroom for example.
Swimming pool conversion is simple with Pool-dek, the product is expertly designed around your exact measurements and specifications, and can be installed in less than a day.
- Modular components (easy handling and storage)
- Easy to install, dismantle and store (components simply connect together with no need to drain the pool and no tools are required)
- Compact storage (storage trolleys can pass through a standard single doorway)
- Multi-functional (create a dual purpose room)
- Finish options (a choice of floor finishes are available)
- Strong and secure (robust construction, perfectly safe to walk and dance on)
- High specification of finishes (aesthetically pleasing and durable)
- Worldwide installations (over 20 years of experience installing worldwide from the UK to Qatar)
Empty, Indoor or Outdoor Unused Pool?
Swimming pool removal can be a very expensive operation. We specialise in infilling and/or covering decommissioned pools so that the space can be transformed into a multi-use room, eliminating the need to use tonnes of concrete. Pool-dek is a temporary or permanent solution that can be installed in an empty or filled swimming pool.
Perhaps you have purchased, or are interested in a property with a pool, that you may not require now however, do not want to remove the pool in case of future sale.
We have worked with clients in these circumstances and provided a solution which allows the swimming pool to remain intact (with or without water). By constructing a bespoke metalwork and timber decking system we are able to create a safe and structurally sound floor over the pool allowing full use of the space. View our Inspiration page for more ideas.
The process is simple, shortly after your initial enquiry, a Project Manager will carry out an initial survey of your swimming pool and discuss your project requirements.
The details are passed to our design team where a Pool-dek (metal framework) or Pool-span (beam construction) solution will be produced. A follow up consultation appointment will be arranged to discuss our proposal and your specific requirements.
Metalwork is available in mild steel and grades 304 and 316 (stainless steel). The base of the pool floor is completely protected as we use adjustable swivel feet with neoprene foot pads, perfectly matching the pool depth and profile. The system has been tested to BS6399:1996 Part 1 and supports loading of 7.5KN/m2. For more information on Pool-dek, download our brochure.
Your initial installation is included (UK Mainland only) which on average takes less than a day to complete, and our expert team work to all safety regulations including risk assessments and method statements. We offer an aftercare service to dismantle and install the system as required. Clients are provided with a detailed plan of the modular system for future installations. There are no requirements for additional tools or fixings, the system is designed to simply connect together.
